Shah pays tributes to martyrs, meets families of naxal victims

JAGDALPUR,CG,BHARAT: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday paid tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight against Naxalism at the Shaheed Smarak in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh.

He also met with the families of martyred soldiers and victims of Naxal violence, accompanied by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.

In his address, Shah lauded the Chhattisgarh government's efforts to establish the memorial for 1,399 martyrs, emphasizing that it would serve both as a tribute and an inspiration for future generations. He reassured that the Modi government is determined to completely eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026, ensuring no more bloodshed in the region.

Shah outlined the Chhattisgarh government’s three-pronged strategy to combat Naxalism: welcoming those willing to renounce violence and reintegrate into society, intensifying efforts to capture those still involved in violence, and ensuring strict action against those who persist in harming innocent lives. He highlighted the success of the past year, with 287 Naxalites neutralized, nearly 1,000 arrested, and 837 surrendered in Chhattisgarh.

Underlining the unprecedented progress made in the fight against Naxalism, Shah praised the Chhattisgarh government’s coordinated efforts and the role of the state police in restoring peace. He assured that the state's development initiatives, such as the construction of 15,000 houses in Naxal-affected areas, will accelerate in the coming years.

Shah also discussed a phased development plan aimed at improving infrastructure and welfare in previously Naxal-affected regions, with the full support of Prime Minister Modi. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the saturation of government welfare schemes in these villages, prioritizing families affected by Naxal violence.

Shah reiterated that the central government, in collaboration with various ministries, is committed to supporting these communities and ensuring their rehabilitation and progress.
