RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: The Centre has approved the return of IAS officer Subodh Kumar Singh to Chhattisgarh after a five-year deputation in Delhi.
According to reports, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued orders for his return, though he has not yet been officially released from his current role.
A 1997-batch IAS officer, Subodh Kumar Singh is expected to join as Principal Secretary in Chhattisgarh, in line with his seniority. Sources indicate that he may assume his new responsibilities by the end of December.
During his tenure in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Dr. Raman Singh, Subodh Kumar Singh held key positions, including Secretary in the Chief Minister's Secretariat and Collector in several districts, including Raipur. His performance during that period reportedly prompted the current government to request his return to the state.
In his recent role at the Centre, Singh served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Steel and Financial Advisor. He gained national prominence during his tenure as Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), particularly when the NEET exam paper leak brought the agency into the spotlight.
Known for his calm yet impactful working style, IAS Subodh Kumar Singh’s return is anticipated to strengthen administrative operations in Chhattisgarh.
