RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: In a significant move to boost healthcare accessibility, the Chhattisgarh government has amended the Chhattisgarh State Hospital and Treatment Related Establishments Licensing Rules, 2013, providing major relief to medical institutions with up to 30 beds.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal lauded the initiative as a historic step in expanding health facilities across the state.
Under the revised rules, small medical institutions can now benefit from a simplified registration process:
Clinics in the state can now obtain an automatic license by submitting an affidavit to comply with prescribed norms. Licenses can be downloaded online.
Licenses will be issued upon affidavit submission, with a three-month window to fulfill the norms.
Applications will be processed within three months for 11 to 30 beds, with inspections conducted by medical officers. If not completed within the timeframe, the institutions will be automatically registered.
Hospitals with more than 30 beds will still be required to meet all licensing norms in advance but will benefit from streamlined processes under separate rules.
The regulatory overhaul is expected to facilitate the establishment of healthcare facilities, ensuring more accessible medical services for the people of Chhattisgarh. Health Minister Jaiswal emphasized that the new rules will ease the burden on smaller institutions, enabling them to contribute more effectively to the state's healthcare infrastructure.
