DANTEWADA,CG(INDIA): Dantewada district has made significant progress in the field of e-governance by simplifying and speeding up access to land records for its residents. As a result, the district has been selected for the Prime Minister’s Award for its outstanding work.
Earlier, villagers had to wait for weeks to obtain important documents like ownership records, B-1, Form A, Plot Register, Nomination, and Map Records. Now, these documents can be accessed within minutes at land records offices or kiosk centers using just a name or survey number. This has especially benefited people living in remote areas.
The digitization process, which covered all land records from 1920 to 1991, has made records more secure and easier to retrieve. It has also saved time, reduced resource use, and prevented unauthorized changes in documents by ensuring greater transparency through the digital system.
A team from New Delhi, led by Under Secretary Santosh Kumar and Rohtas Meena, recently visited Dantewada to assess the work. District Collector Kunal Dudawat provided a detailed overview of the digitization process and its impact. Other officials present included CEO of the District Panchayat Jayant Nahata, Additional Collector Rajesh Patre, Tehsildar Vineet Singh, and Superintendent of Land Records Govardhan Sahu.
