Raipur, Chhattisgarh (India): MATS School of Engineering & Information Technology celebrated Engineers’ Day 2025 with great enthusiasm, honouring the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the legendary engineer and nation builder whose visionary contributions continue to inspire generations. The celebration showcased innovative project demonstrations by every department, featuring sustainable solutions, green energy concepts, and cutting-edge technologies that highlighted the University’s commitment to research, creativity, and industry-ready skills.
The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Guru Khushwant Saheb, Cabinet Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh, who delivered an inspiring and heartfelt address. Expressing deep pride in his alma mater, he recalled his own academic journey of completing his M.Tech at MATS University and shared that he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. here, describing the institution as a cornerstone of his personal and professional growth. He also shed light on the Government of Chhattisgarh’s upcoming plans for the development of the state’s technical sector, outlining initiatives to boost innovation, strengthen research infrastructure, and create opportunities for young engineers. He lauded the University’s role in shaping competent engineers and pledged his full support to its future initiatives, assuring students and faculty of every possible assistance from the government to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement.
Adding to the grandeur of the event, Chancellor Gajraj Pagaria captivated the audience with his powerful words, emphasizing that engineers are the true architects of modern society who transform visionary ideas into reality and drive the nation toward sustainable progress. He highlighted the importance of nurturing critical thinking, embracing emerging technologies, and instilling a sense of responsibility in young engineers to address global challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Distinguished leaders including Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. P. Yadav, Director General Priyesh Pagaria, Registrar Gokulnanda Panda, and Dr. Brijesh Patel (Dean, MSEIT) also shared their inspiring thoughts, underscoring the vital role of engineers in digital transformation and nation-building. The Chief Guest joined the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” drive by planting a sapling, symbolising sustainability and gratitude to mothers.
The program began with a traditional Saraswati Vandana, followed by a warm welcome of dignitaries, and concluded with an interactive session where students presented their projects and received valuable guidance. Dr. Brijesh Patel delivered the Vote of Thanks, reaffirming MATS University’s unwavering dedication to nurturing innovative, industry-ready engineers who will shape a technologically advanced and self-reliant India.
