KANKER, CG (INDIA): Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade has reiterated the Chhattisgarh government's commitment to ensuring that government schemes reach children and women with full transparency and quality. On Thursday, she was conducting a surprise inspection of Anganwadi centers in Dhamtari and Kanker districts. She made it clear that any negligence in the implementation of these schemes under Vishnu Deo Sai's governance would not be tolerated.
During her visit to Anganwadi center number-2 at Telinsatti village in Dhamtari district, Mrs. Rajwade personally engaged with the children, sitting on the floor to play a game with them, asking their names, and distributing chocolates. She inquired about their breakfast and food, giving clear instructions to the Anganwadi workers to ensure that meals and snacks were served on time.
She also emphasized the importance of providing a nutritious diet, ensuring clean drinking water, and the availability of ORS. Rajwade further directed that the centres should operate from 7 am to 11 am, with a focus on making the centres safe, accessible, and child-friendly.
In her inspection of the Anganwadi centre at Dargah village in Kanker district, Rajwade warned the officers and staff in a firm tone that negligence in child supervision would not be tolerated. She followed this up with a review meeting where she took feedback from departmental officers about the progress of government schemes and provided necessary guidance for improvement. The meeting was attended by various officials, including Director of Women and Child Development Padum Singh Elma, Director of Social Welfare Raktima Yadav, Project Officers, Anganwadi workers, and Sahayikas. Minister Rajwade emphasized that the government's primary goal is the effective implementation of welfare schemes for children and women, and any lapse in this regard would not be accepted.
