NEW DELHI: India has demanded the Australian authorities to take action against those involved in stabbing of Indian student in Sydney. In response to a media query, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi expressed deep concern over the incident and said that the injured student is undergoing treatment in the hospital. He said, Indian High Commission in Canberra and Consulate in Sydney are in close touch with local authorities and are in contact with his family. In reply to another question, Bagchi said that there are ongoing negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Indian and UK. He asserted that there is interest on both sides if they can work towards a deal beneficial to both nations at an early date. He said, negotiations on FTA are underway and it have not come to a halt.
