Chhattisgarh ranks second in ePMSMA

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh was ranked in second position in the country for implementing the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (ePMSMA).

Union Minister of State for Health Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar honored the state for the achievement at the National Maternal Health Workshop organized in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In the current financial year from April to November, the state has conducted 1,48,851 antenatal care (ANC) tests on pregnant women, an official communication said.

Under the Prime Minister's Safe Motherhood Campaign, the ANC test of pregnant women is done on the 9th of every month. Now, it is also conducted on 24th of every month.

Dr. Alka Gupta, Joint Director of Maternal Health Program, Dr. Mithlesh Chaudhary, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Raipur and State Program Officer Dr. Shailendra Agarwal received the award on behalf of the state.

Agarwal said the Chhattisgarh team presented a poster on High Risk Pregnancy Tracking Guidelines in the workshop. Through the poster, it has been told how high risk pregnancy is being identified and treated at the earliest.
