RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammed Akbar on Monday paid rich tributes to martyred forest officers and employees, having sacrificed lives while protecting the forests, wildlife and environment.
Forest Martyrs' Day is observed on September 11 and the event was held at Rajiv Smriti Van (Energy Park), Raipur.
Principal Secretary Forest Department Manoj Pinguva and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief of Forest Force V. Srinivas Rao and senior officials of the Forest Department paid tribute to the martyred forest personnel by laying a wreath at the Forest Martyr Memorial. Two minutes of silence was also observed.
