CG NEWS: Saint Vinoba Bhave stood for deprived, homeless: Governor

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabushan Harichandan on Monday said Acharya Vinoba Bhave was a unique revolutionary and great leader of the Bhoodan movement. He always made revolution for the deprived and the homeless.

He was addressing the 129th birth anniversary celebrations of Saint Vinoba Bhave in collaboration with Vinoba Seva Sansthan was organized at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar as chief guest.

Governor said his patriotism, determination, and independent thinking were extraordinary and unique. Inspired by Gandhiji, he engaged in national service to free the country from slavery. He remained engaged in service to spread the ideas of Gandhiji in letter and spirit.

Harichandan said that revolution means public awakening. Like Vinoba, the youth and every citizen will have to be aware of the rights of the poor and the oppressed, for their soil. If a revolution of awareness arises in the society, then Vinoba's dream will come true and the youth will be inspired by his ideals.

Former Odisha Minister and MLA Prafulla Samal, MLA Mohammad Mokim, former Union Minister Brajkishore Tripathi and others participated.
