RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Monday underlined the need to make arrangements for immediate treatment and assistance to the injured in road accidents.
He asked the officials of state during the state level review meeting of road safety scenarios at the secretariat at Nava Raipur.
He also emphasised to take necessary action under effective action plan for the control and prevention of road accidents including safe traffic arrangements.
He reviewed in detail the medical arrangements in primary health centres and community health centres located near various national highways and highways of state and status of trauma centres in medical colleges and district hospitals in different districts. He also underlined the need to do all the necessary work for traffic education and road safety awareness.
He asked the officials to continuously inspect the medical equipment present in the hospitals and those in the ambulances. Health department should monitor the presence of ambulances in all health centres near the national highways and highways.
Education Department officials said that NCC, NSS cadets and students of Bharat Scout Guide, their services are also being taken for awareness related works and for smooth traffic. Secretary Transport S. Prakash, Secretary of School Education Department Dr. S. Bharathidasan and Secretary Medical Education and others were present.
