RAIPUR: The Social Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh will host different events to mark the International Day of Older Persons on October 1 in all the districts including capital city Raipur.
The department on Friday had issued circulars to all the district collectors to organise felicitation ceremonies, workshops, seminars, awareness camps among others for the senior citizens.
Health awareness camps, workshops related to financial protection of senior citizens, information by experts regarding the Maintenance and Welfare Act 2007 of parents and senior citizens, cultural programs and sports competitions friendly to senior citizens are to be organized in the districts.
