RAIPUR: Raipur District Collector and District Magistrate Dr Sarveshwar Bhure on Thursday banned the use of loudspeakers without permission in the district.
The order states that loudspeakers in moving vehicles and others for election campaigning can be used only from 6 am to 10 pm, only after getting permission from the competent authority.
In general, loudspeakers for public meetings, publicity, processions, and vehicles can be used only from 6 am to 10 pm. It will remain effective till the end of the polling for the state assembly election.
The order has appointed competent authority to grant permission. Additional District Magistrate for Assembly Constituency Raipur City Rural (Municipal Corporation Area Raipur and Birgaon), Raipur City West, Raipur City North and Raipur City South, Assembly Constituency, Abhanpur and Dharsiwa and Tehsildar Tilda Nevra has been appointed for assembly constituency Balodabazar (for 110 polling stations).
