CG NEWS: Youth gets taste of judiciary, lands in jail

RAIPUR: Youth tried to outsmart the judiciary but finally was sent to jail by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) in a cheque bounce case after he was arrested. He was released on Friday after he deposited the loan balance amount.

Counsel of State Bank of India, G S Chandrakar and Narendra Chandrakar said that Bholanath Patel, resident of Jyoti Nagar, Kota Raipur had taken loan from State Bank of India, SME Centre, Civil Lines, Raipur. As per the security, the cheque amount of Rs 17,000 was kept, with condition of retrieving the amount, when default. Due to default, the cheque was placed for withdrawal but it bounced due to lack of funds in the bank account.

Chandrakar added that the case was filed in 2018 for an amount of just Rs 17,000. Patel was skipping arrest warrant since June 13, 2022. Several reminders fell to deaf ears of Bholanath Patel and he acted smart after taking bail by not appearing before court. Finally the court issued a permanent arrest warrant on July 22, 2023 leading to his arrest. He was sent to jail rejecting his bail application.

Finally, on Friday he paid the full remaining amount of loan after which he was released by the court. The case will be withdrawn due to full payment.
