KORBA: With strengthening of checking through checkpoints by the Chhattisgarh police in view of the general assembly election 2023, police on Tuesday seized 15.08 kilograms of gold, silvery jewellery.
The monitoring is part of the enforcement of the model code of conduct. The vehicles are being thoroughly checked and if suspicious items are found in the vehicles, legal action is being taken along with confiscation.
The police were successful during checking. The Hardi Bazar police station has recovered 15.087 kg of gold and silver jewelry at the checking point. The price is around Rs 3.50 lakhs.
Meanwhile, Bango police station has seized about Rs 10 lakh in cash during the vehicle check. The official communication states that the Bango police station has seized Rs 8 lakh and Manikpur outpost has seized Rs 2 lakh in cash, thus a total Rs 10 lakh. The police continued taking action till late night.
