BEMETARA,CG: Bemetara District Collector Ranveer Sharma on Monday said a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Play the game with sporting spirit, there are immense possibilities in the game.

He was addressing the 21-day summer sports training camp inaugural ceremony at Swami Vivekananda Stadium located at the district headquarters.

Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue and Sports and Youth Welfare In-charge Pinky Manhar was present. The 21-day training, training in cricket, karate, kho kho, yoga and football will be given by skilled trainers.

Sharma said he has been coming to the stadium regularly since the second day of joining in Bemetara. He appealed to the citizens of Bemetara that they should also come and make good use of the stadium.

He asked all the children to stay away from mobile phones and encouraged them to increase their abilities by playing a lot. He wrote a poem to bring enthusiasm towards sports among the children - If you have the strength then go ahead, but by yourself, today a little, tomorrow more and more.

He said, “You still have time, you are still a student, if not more then give at least 1 hour in the field and stay connected with the game.”

Manhar in her address appealed to all the children to take advantage of the training and asked them to bring glory to themselves and their district by participating in the upcoming competitions.

Karate coach Ajay Verma enthralled everyone by demonstrating karate to the karate players. Training material was distributed to all the trainers.
