RAIPUR,CG: Chief Minister Sai praised the Jain tradition of penance and its role in bringing prosperity and happiness to Chhattisgarh. He noted the Jain community's practice of extensive meditation and travel on foot without Charan Paduka, emphasizing their contribution to societal welfare through self-discipline.
Sai was addressing the Siddhi Shikhar Vijay Utsav organized by Jain Samaj at the Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Budhapara, marking the Purnahuti of Siddhitap. The event honored 114 ascetics, including an 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, and an 80-year-old woman, who observed 4,500 types of fasts over 44 days according to Jain tradition.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, who presided over the event, highlighted the significance of the saints' blessings and their role in inspiring spiritual penance. He expressed his wish for continued peace and prosperity in Chhattisgarh.
Raipur MP Brijmohan Aggarwal congratulated the ascetics, acknowledging their role in enhancing the spiritual and material well-being of the state. He encouraged the incorporation of the saints' teachings into daily life.
Jaipal Vijayji Maharaj addressed the gathering, emphasizing Jainism’s principles of non-violence and compassion. He spoke about the global and national benefits of the saints' penance and the symbolic victory achieved through their efforts.
The event was organized by Shri Jain Shwetambar Murti Pujak Samaj and Chartumas Committee, with notable attendees including Pujya Priyadarshi Vijay Ji Maharaj, Pujya Tirtha Prem Vijay Ji Maharaj, MLA Rajesh Munat, Gajraj Pagaria, Swaroop Chand Jain, and officials from Sakal Jain Samaj.
