RAIPUR,CG: Under the youth program of Nandanvan Jungle Safari Nava Raipur, people are being made aware about the environment through voluntary workers. A survey has been prepared with community participation to understand the importance and needs of ponds. Through the survey, the need and condition of ponds for water conservation is being assessed.
Forest department officials said that our elders are an inspiration for us, who built ponds and contributed to water conservation. Now these ponds are gradually disappearing and due to the pressure on ground water is increasing. To understand this, a survey is being organized with the help of the community under the theme 'Mor Taria Mor Abhiman'. For it, the Forest Department has requested everyone to cooperate in the work by surveying one or more or all the ponds of any village near them. The last date for this has been fixed as 15 September 2024. Information can be given through the website https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WYWPCS3.
