Birsa Munda Birth Anniversary: ‘Mati Ke Veer’ Padyatra

* Dr. Mansukh to join padyatra in Jashpur today

RAIPUR/JASHPUR,CG,BHARAT: Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, will participate in the ‘Mati Ke Veer’ Padyatra in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, to honour Tribal Pride Day and commemorate Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary.

It aims to celebrate tribal heritage, highlight Birsa Munda’s legacy, and acknowledge the contributions of tribal communities to India’s development.

More than 10,000 My Bharat Youth Volunteers will join the padyatra, which begins at Komodo village and concludes at Ranjit Stadium, covering 7 kilometres. The padyatra will feature cultural performances, including traditional dances and acts depicting tribal contributions to India’s independence.

The padyatra will begin with sapling plantations in line with Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. An exhibition will also display historical tribal movements, celebrate tribal leaders, and showcase unique tribal artistry and craftsmanship. Along the route, traditional plays, rangoli art, and live-streamed workshops will provide interactive experiences with tribal music, dance, and literature. Special awareness kiosks will share information on government schemes, especially those benefiting tribal communities.

Key highlights include, Cultural Performances: Traditional tribal dances and music, Exhibitions: Depictions of tribal movements and artistry through plays and tableaux, awareness Kiosks: Information about government initiatives for women and tribal communities, Artistic Displays: Rangoli, painting, and tribal art workshops, Tribute to Tribal Heroes: Participants will dress as notable tribal figures, Sports Recognition: Honors for Padma awardees and promotion of traditional tribal sports and Tribal Cuisine: Showcasing healthful tribal foods.

The Ministry invites youth from across India to join by registering on the My Bharat Portal at www.mybharat.gov.in. The year-long initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs celebrates 75 years of the Constitution and aims to strengthen youth connection to India’s diverse cultural heritage through padayatra nationwide.
