New PG seats allocated at Raigarh Medical College

RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: Medical students in Chhattisgarh will now have enhanced opportunities for higher education within the state, thanks to the approval of three new postgraduate (PG) courses at Lakhiram Memorial Government Medical College, Raigarh.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal stated that the new courses would benefit MBBS graduates by providing local access to PG education, reducing the need to go outside the state for further studies.

“The addition of these courses will improve the quality of medical education and increase the number of specialist doctors in the state”, said Jaiswal.

The approved PG courses include, M.S. General Surgery – 7 seats, M.D. Paediatrics – 4 seats and M.D. General Medicine – 5 seats.

An essentiality certificate for these courses has been issued by the Medical Education Department. The move is expected to bolster both medical education and healthcare services in Chhattisgarh, addressing the state’s growing demand for specialist doctors.
