Engagement ceremony highlights road safety awareness

RAJNANDGAON,CG,BHARAT: In the fast-paced lives of today, road accidents have become a growing concern due to negligence and lack of adherence to safety protocols. Addressing the issue, a unique engagement ceremony in Kariatola village, Dongargarh, turned into a platform for promoting road safety awareness.

During the engagement ceremony, Birendra Sahu and Jyoti Sahu exchanged rings while also wearing helmets, delivering a powerful message about road safety. The gesture, inspired by personal tragedy, captivated the attendees and emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety at every stage of life.

Birendra’s commitment to road safety stems from a life-changing incident—his father’s untimely death in a road accident due to the absence of a helmet. The loss transformed the family’s outlook, driving them to advocate for helmet usage and road safety awareness.

Birendra’s elder brother, Dharmendra Sahu, has taken this mission further by launching the ‘Helmet Sangwari’ campaign. Known for his dedication to the cause, Dharmendra has donated over 1,000 helmets and conducts regular awareness drives. His efforts, supported by his family, aim to instill a culture of safety among the community.

The engagement ceremony’s symbolic act resonated deeply with the people of Dongargarh, drawing praise and support for the Helmet Sangwari campaign. The initiative has also caught the attention of local authorities and social organizations, inspiring further efforts to promote road safety.

Dharmendra Sahu emphasizes that the campaign is not just about distributing helmets but about saving lives. Through continuous awareness programs and outreach, the family hopes to drive home the message that small actions can lead to significant changes in society.
