CU to host Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2024

BILASPUR,CG,BHARAT: The Grand Finale of the two-day Smart India Hackathon 2024 will be held on December 11 and 12, 2024, at the Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (a Central University). 

Smart India Hackathon 2024, one of the largest technical competitions in the country, will see 132 talented students from across India tackling four technical problems. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to engage young minds in innovative and creative problem-solving.

Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, expressed satisfaction with the preparations for this national-level event. He remarked, “It is a matter of pride that Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is part of this national technical competition. Events like Smart India Hackathon 2024 provide students with opportunities to enhance their technical and creative abilities. We are proud to host this platform, which will not only bring recognition to the state in the field of technological innovation but also inspire our students”.

The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India designed to inspire students to find solutions to real-world problems. Launched in 2017, this competition aims to promote Digital India and establish India as a hub of innovation.

Key Highlights of Smart India Hackathon are the Ministry of Education has presented statements related to 68 hardware and 186 software problems. Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, will host 4 problem statements where 22 teams from across the country will present solutions. The themes are Health, Agriculture, Environment, Smart Cities, Cybersecurity, and more.

Participants will gain unique experience by working with industry experts and learning from their expertise. They will also have the opportunity to showcase their technical talents at the national level. The winning teams will not only receive prizes but may also get the chance to implement their solutions in real-world scenarios.
