Illegal Bangladeshi Migrants to Be Expelled from Chhattisgarh: Home Minister Sharma

RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: In response to the ongoing Bangladesh crisis, the BJP-led government in Chhattisgarh has vowed to take strong action against illegal Bangladeshi migrants residing in the state on fraudulent documents. Home Minister Vijay Sharma announced that all illegal Bangladeshi nationals will be arrested and expelled.

Sharma, speaking to the media in Bhilai, revealed that many of these migrants are identified as illegal Bangladeshi intruders, and earlier reports had labeled some as Rohingyas. He provided updates on the state's crackdown, stating that 46 illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Kondagaon district are currently imprisoned. Additionally, over 500 illegal migrants have been expelled from Bastar, and approximately 350 from Kawardha.

The Home Minister emphasized that police have been instructed to take decisive actions against illegal Bangladeshi migrants, including reports of such individuals residing in Durg district, where action is expected to commence shortly.

Sharma also briefed the media about the state’s anti-Naxal initiatives and rehabilitation policies aimed at reintegrating youth who joined Maoist groups due to misinformation. During an upcoming visit to Bastar for the Bastar Olympics, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, will announce new schemes for surrendered Naxals and victims of Naxal violence. On this occasion, 100 individuals who have renounced violence will be recognized for their reintegration into society.
