Dr. Arvind Neral achieves milestone with 125th blood donation

RAIPUR: Dr. Arvind Neral marked a remarkable milestone in the realm of blood donation by making his 125th donation at a special blood donation camp held at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

The camp commenced with Dr. Neral's donation in the presence of Governor Ramen Deka and First Lady Rani Deka Kakoti.

Prominent medical professionals, including the Dean of Medical College Raipur, Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, Superintendent Dr. Santosh Sonkar, Dr. S.B.S. Netam, and Dr. Ravikant Das, alongside other medical educators were present. To inspire others, Dr. Neral presented his book, "Tum Mujhe Khoon Do", to the Governor, who lauded his unwavering commitment to promoting blood donation.

Organized in collaboration with the Model Blood Bank of the Medical College Raipur's Pathology Department, the two-day camp is hosted in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, Dr. Aviral Mishra, and a dedicated team of technicians contributed significantly to the camp's success.

Dr. Neral, a Professor and Head of the Pathology Department at Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur, has been a consistent blood donor since the age of 23. His achievement of donating blood 125 times is potentially unparalleled among medical professionals and educators. Beyond donations, he actively advocates for blood donation, addressing doubts and fostering awareness through lectures, articles, and motivational programs.

His impactful contributions include organizing numerous camps, writing for publications, and sharing insights via All India Radio, Doordarshan, and Mumbai's Vividh Bharti program "Sehatnama". His book, "Tum Mujhe Khoon Do", featuring scientific insights, slogans, stories, and poetry, has become a cornerstone in blood donation advocacy.
