RAIPUR: The State Election Commission, Chhattisgarh has finalized arrangements for the upcoming urban body and panchayat elections in Chhattisgarh.
Reservation for the posts of President in 33 District Panchayats will take place on December 30 at the Thakur Pyarelal Panchayat and Rural Development Institute, Nimora. Additionally, reservation rosters for urban body elections have been prepared.
The General Administration Department has issued guidelines for the enforcement of the election code of conduct. As per the directives approved by the Chief Secretary, a ban on transfers has been imposed. Guidelines covering 22 other points have also been issued to ensure compliance during the electoral process.
Officials indicate that the notification for urban body and panchayat elections could be released soon. Once the election code of conduct is implemented, announcements of transfers and new schemes will be restricted.
The development marks a critical step toward ensuring a fair and transparent election process across the state.
