RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh continues to experience fluctuating weather conditions, with the Meteorological Department predicting no significant changes in minimum temperatures over the next five days. However, isolated rainfall is expected in parts of the state.
Light rain is likely in Kondagaon, Kanker, and Narayanpur districts of Bastar division due to a prevailing western disturbance. Meteorologists forecast increased rainfall activity in some areas after two days, followed by a noticeable drop in temperatures.
The Bay of Bengal remains under the influence of a well-marked low-pressure area, impacting weather patterns across the region. The low-pressure zone, currently located over the west-central and southwestern Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, extends cyclonic circulation up to 4.5 km above sea level. This system is expected to weaken gradually over the next 24 hours.
As per the district-wise weather conditions:, Raipur remained with cloudy skies with a maximum temperature of 29°C and a minimum of 18°C.
Surajpur: The coldest spot in the state with a minimum temperature of 10.7°C.
Kanker: Recorded the highest temperature at 28.9°C.
Bilaspur and Balrampur: The lowest temperature was 11°C, while Balrampur also reported the highest at 31.4°C.
Rain is expected in the districts of Surguja and Bilaspur divisions on December 27 and 28, with a sharp increase in cold temperatures across the state from December 28.
Residents are advised to prepare for colder days ahead as winter intensifies post-rainfall activity.
