RAJNANDGAON,CG,INDIA: In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, the Rajnandgaon police of Chhattisgarh, in collaboration with the NT Narcotics Task Force and Cyber Cell, have arrested two interstate smugglers transporting 243.54 kg of ganja. The accused were caught while smuggling cannabis from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh using a vegetable-laden vehicle. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is ₹36,53,100.
According to Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg, the arrested individuals, Santosh Pal and Dilawar Ali, are habitual offenders with prior cases of drug trafficking, theft, and even murder. The police are currently searching for the driver of the vehicle, who managed to escape during the operation.
The accused had concealed the ganja in eight plastic sacks, hidden beneath empty vegetable crates in the pickup truck. Santosh Pal is a resident of Ward No. 06, Supela, Bhilai, while Dilawar Ali hails from Jhalmala village in Bilaspur district. Authorities are now working to uncover the broader network involved in the smuggling operation.
