Chhattisgarh clinches Gold, Silver in mixed doubles

RAIPUR,CG(INDIA): Chhattisgarh created history by winning the gold medal for the first time in the mixed doubles event at the All India Police Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament. The state also secured the silver medal in the same category, making it a proud double victory.

Suraj Singh Parihar IPS and Akarshi Kashyap DSP won gold medals. 

The tournament, held from April 11 to 15 at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Regional Sports Center in Ernakulam, Kerala, featured teams from across the country. Among 43 participating teams, Chhattisgarh secured an impressive third place in the overall medal tally, winning a total of 11 medals in badminton and table tennis.

The 5-day sporting event concluded in Cochin, Kerala. Notably, Chhattisgarh had previously won five medals in the same tournament held in Chandigarh, marking consistent improvement in performance.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the Chhattisgarh Police and all medal winners for this outstanding achievement. He stated that the performance of the Chhattisgarh Police team is a source of inspiration for other players and showcases the growing strength of sports talent in the state.
