RAIPUR, CG (INDIA): Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting collaboration in education, research, and technology development. The agreement was formalized today during a signing ceremony at IGKV’s campus in Raipur, with IGKV Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel and IIT Bhilai Director Dr. Rajiv Prakash representing their respective institutions.
Through this partnership, both institutions will work together to train students, support high-quality postgraduate research, and carry out joint research projects. Faculty members from both institutes will also get the opportunity to collaborate on research work, use each other’s facilities, and share scientific and technical information. The agreement is expected to boost research, innovation, and technology development in Chhattisgarh.
The MoU allows students pursuing higher studies and research at both IGKV and IIT Bhilai to participate in joint academic and research programmes. This collaboration will help identify and address complex research problems, promote exchange of knowledge and biological material, and encourage effective use of available resources such as libraries and laboratories.
Alongside this agreement, IIT Bhilai also signed a separate MoU with the Chhattisgarh Biotech Promotion Society. This partnership will focus on supporting startup incubation and developing new technologies in the biotech sector.
Senior officials and faculty members from IGKV were present at the event, including Dr. G.K. Das, Dr. Vinay Pandey, Dr. A.K. Dave, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dr. S.S. Tuteja, and Dr. Rajendra Lakpale. They expressed hope that this collaboration would open new avenues for students and researchers and contribute significantly to the state’s academic and technological progress.
Overall, the agreement marks a meaningful step toward creating stronger academic bonds within the state, enabling both institutions to benefit from each other’s strengths and resources in the years to come.
