RAIPUR: World Table Tennis Day celebrated

RAIPUR, CG (INDIA): A simple ceremony was held at the Sapre Shala Table Tennis Hall in Raipur to mark World Table Tennis Day. The event was jointly organized by the Chhattisgarh Table Tennis Association and the Rajdhani Table Tennis Association, Raipur. During the program, several senior players were honored for their valuable contributions to the sport.

The chief guest was former Raipur North MLA Kuldeep Juneja, and the event was presided over by Sharad Shukla, Vice President of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association. Other special guests included Kishore Jadwani, Senior Vice President of the Chhattisgarh Table Tennis Association, and Treasurer Saurabh Shukla. Vice President  Pradeep Joshi and Vinay Baiswade also shared the stage. The program was conducted by Shakeel Sajid, Secretary of the Raipur Metropolitan Table Tennis Association.

Senior players Tarun Rathod, Ajit Banerjee, Dr. Ritu Dubey, Rajasekhar Sharma, Dr. Avinash Ingale, and S.A. Ali were honored with a quince and a certificate for their outstanding contributions to table tennis.

The ceremony was kept simple in light of the tragic terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. A two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the innocent civilians who lost their lives, and all attendees offered their heartfelt condolences.

Many officials, players, and parents attended the event, including Arvind Kumar Sharma, Vimal Nair, Pankaj Shukla and others, said Vinay Baiswade, Vice President of the Chhattisgarh Table Tennis Association.
