Narayanpur finds place in top 5 aspirational districts

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Narayanpur district has found place in top five aspirational districts under Overall Performance category in Delta Ranking of National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog on Tuesday.

Aayog has released the ranking for the month of August, an official communication said.

Among the top five districts in the overall performance category, Narayanpur has bagged the fifth position. In the monthly delta ranking, Narayanpur district ranks second in the health and nutrition category and fourth in the education category.

In almost four years of the government, remarkable work has been done for the development of the education, nutrition, and healthcare sector in the district. The Government of India has appreciated the efforts on several occasions.

Underprivileged children are getting an opportunity to study in English medium schools with the commencement of government-run Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools. On these lines, Swami Atmanand Hindi Medium Schools have also started to improve the quality of education in Hindi medium.

The primary school children, in yet another unique initiative, are being imparted education in the local dialect. This is to ensure the children learn the basics in their mother-tongue.

Through ‘Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan’, a special drive initiated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to eradicate malnutrition among children and anaemia among adolescent girls and women, is yielding positive results. The scheme provides cooked hot food to the beneficiaries.

Under extension of health care facilities schemes like ‘Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic’, ‘Dai-Didi Clinic’, ‘Hamar Lab’, ‘Malaria Mukt Bastar’, ‘Dr Khoobchand Baghel Swasthya Yojana’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Yojana’ are being implemented. It has brought health services to the doorstep of people.
