RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh government is working with an eye on increasing the income and bringing prosperity to all. With this working it will bring peace and happiness, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday. Interacting with the media at Shivrinarayan, he said the government is implementing welfare schemes to hike income and bring prosperity to all. It would then bring peace and happiness around. Due to strong economic backing and policies, even during Covid-19 pandemic people could celebrate Diwali. This year it is more special as people have money in their hands after release of instalments under various schemes. Sharing his experience of village Konaragarh, Kera and Shivrinaryan, he said a statue of Lord Shir Ram on banks of Mahanadi was unveiled on Wednesday. Government is keen to develop Shivrinarayan as an important pilgrimage of stated. At present under the ‘Ram Van Gaman’ tourism circuit project, out of the nine sites identified for the first phase, work at Shivrinarayan and Chandkhuri have been completed. The work of the remaining seven sites are in progress, he said. He also shared the feedback and response received from the people during his visits. At Raipur, Chief Minister said there have been shortcomings in Gauthans but BJP should come up with positive criticism. It would help the government to improve it. As an opposition it should also come forward to protect the cows instead of using draw backs for votes. On taking loans for repair of roads, Baghel said during the BJP period the roads, even under the guarantee period, had developed faults. The expressway was not even fit for driving. Baghel said he will be on a visit to Delhi and meet the newly elected president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka and union ministers. Questioning the election of BJP national president, he said BJP should make it clear as to how the tenure of J P Nadda is being extended. Congress had at least conducted polling where Kharge won with more than 8,000 votes.
