RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday underlined the need to tighten the administration to extend benefits to the general public as the districts have become smaller.
Baghel was holding a review of Rajnandgaon district with officials at Dongargaon during the Bhent Mulaqat Abhiyan (direct public interaction).
He said the area of Rajnandgaon district has been reduced. The officials need to tighten the administration to ensure benefits of government schemes reach the general public at the lowest level. With less area, the officials can hold regular monitoring and implement the schemes in the best way.
Baghel reviewed the procurement of paddy, which had begun on November 1. He said it is one of the biggest procurement drives and challenging tasks. Officials need to manage the procurement, lifting and transportation.
He called for farmers to donate ‘hay’ to feed the cattle in Gauthans. It would also help to protect the environment and save livestock.
Seeking status of roads from Public Works Department (PWD) engineers, Baghel asked them to complete all the work related to the repair. The new road construction als.
