CG News: People share joy, sorrows with CM

RAIPUR: People shared their joy over the benefits of government schemes, while some sought relief from Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to overcome their sorrows on Tuesday. Baghel was on a visit to the village Ghumka in Dongargarh Assembly constituency as part of state-wide ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’ (Direct public interaction). Ghumka villager Narayan Yadav on Godhan Nyay Yojana said he had earned Rs 85,000 by selling cow dung in the last 2.5 years. He had purchased a cow and now sells milk also. “Never dreamt that selling cow dung will give a chance to earn,” he said. Winner of ‘Fugdi’ and ‘Billas’ and selected to represent the district, 65-year-old Triveni Thakur of village Singapur said participation in ‘Chhattisgarhiya Olympics’, gave her a chance to live her childhood days.

Khileshwari Yadav said through ‘Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana’ (nutrition scheme) her child had recovered. She sought assistance for treating clubfoot condition. Baghel assured of all help. Dhaneshwari sought financial assistance stating that her father is no more and brother is a teenager. She has secured admission in nursing college and needs money to pursue her studies. The Chief Minister said she will receive Rs 1.5 lakh out of Rs 2 lakh at present. Remaining amount will be paid during the final year of the college. Shafil Khan (Tilai village) sought assistance forhis medical condition of stomach ulcer and Tuberculosis as the ‘smart card’ wasnot enough to seek treatment. Baghel assured special assistance. Earlier, he offered prayers at Maa Shitla MataMandir in village Devridih on his arrival. Inaugurated 'Shitla Mata Kutir' and planted a sapling of sandalwood in temple premises. He unveiled the Maharana Pratap Chowk and statue of Rani Avanti Bai. He announced to upgrade Ghumka as Nagar Panchayat, to open Swami Atmanand English Medium School, upgrading as Tehsil, construction of canal lining at different areas, widening of road, and upgrading of High School to Higher Secondary School at Haduva, Khara and Murmunda.
