RAIPUR: The attitudes of people are transforming. The constant efforts are being made to strengthen the rural economy, said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday.
With funds being infused in rural areas, people have started to find work. It has brought a change in attitude. The Dannex factory in Dantewada employs 1,500 workers while people in Katekalyan collect ‘Mahua’ using a meshnet for better quality, he said while interacting with media at Ambagarh Chowki.
With many schemes and programmes of direct benefit transfer (DBT), rural residents have money. Now they demand the opening of banks and schools, he said.
On the issue of reservations, the Chief Minister stated that the reservation-related provisions in the constitution shall be given to everyone. Tribes are pleased with implementation of programmes. It has resulted in weakening of Naxalism.
Within eight days, complete data will be collected from each tendu leaves collector and the complaint concerning tendupatta payment will be dealt with. There was also a complaint on the issue of water, he added.
Apart from paddy, the Arhar, Urad, and Moong will also be procured. Baghel appealed for donating the hay to gauthans.
In reply to a question, the Chief Minister stated that the formation of a district will lead to the speedy construction of district-level infrastructure. All facilities will be available soon.
The conservation of Shivnath river has been undertaken and it has given positive results. The water recharging is also being done through the ‘Narva’ scheme, he said.
