CG News: CM raises concern over accident in Kumhari

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday expressed deep grief over the death of a couple after their bike fell from the under-construction over bridge in Kumhari (Durg).

He asked Durg district administration to take immediate punitive measures against those responsible for it. He also called for ensuring all security measures including barricading in the under-construction over bridge, so such incidents do not occur in future.

District administration has registered an offence against the company having taken the contract of the bridge construction. Security arrangement has been enhanced on the bridge including putting the cement barricades on both sides of the flyover. Financial assistance has also been handed over.

On Friday late night, Ajuram Dewangan, resident of Changorabhata (Raipur), along with his wife Nirmala and 12-year-old daughter, had gone to attend a wedding ceremony at a relative's place in village Janjgiri Kumhari.

They were traveling on a two-wheeler. Due to lack of light and barricades in the under-construction flyover at Kumhari, he fell from the existing gap. He and his wife died on the spot while the girl is now undergoing treatment in serious condition.
