Chhattisgarh to get its first Vande Bharat Express today

RAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the indigenously built high speed train, Vande Bharat Express connecting Nagpur and Bilaspur on December 11 at 9.30 am. The Prime Minister is on a day visit to Nagpur on Sunday. All the preparations have been put in place for the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express operated by South East Central Railway zone, Bilaspur, states an official communication of Ministry of Railway. The Vande Bharat Express with 18 rakes of 16 coaches first arrived at Bilaspur on Wednesday. It left for Nagpur on Saturday after necessary testing. The Railway employees are being trained to operate the services. It will have four stoppages: Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon and Gondia. It will run six days a week except on Saturday. As per the timing released by the Ministry of Railways, 20825/20826 Bilaspur-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week. As per the new timing released the Express will Bilaspur at 6.45 am and reach Nagpur at 12.15 pm and it would return from Nagpur at 02.05 pm and reach Bilaspur at 07.35 pm. The train departing from Bilaspur has stops at Raipur (8.01 am), Durg (8.48 am), Rajnandgaon (9.07 am) and Gondia (10.28 am.). The train departing from Nagpur (02.05) will have a stoppage at Gondia (03.36), Rajnandgaon (04.44), Durg (05.15), Raipur (05.50 ) and arrival at Bilaspur (07.35) pm. The Vande Bharat runs at 139 km per hour. It will cover the 412 km between Nagpur and Bilaspur in just 5.30 hours. At present, all the superfast trains like Rajdhani, Geetanjali and other mail/express trains take over 6 hours. The Executive Chair car fare is Rs 1,540 and Chair Car cost is Rs 755 between Nagpur-Bilaspur. The fare between Bilaspur and Raipur for Executive Chair car is Rs 890 and Chair Car is Rs 455. It includes the taxes. Additional catering charges are optional for passengers. It will be the sixth Vande Bharat Express in the country.
