Vital role of teachers in achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat: Chakrawal

BILASPUR,CG: Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University) Vice-Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal on Monday emphasized the crucial role of teachers and higher education institutions in achieving the goal of a Viksit Bharat.

He was addressing a discussion on the topic "Role of Higher Education, Universities, and Teachers in Establishing India as a Developed Nation by 2047" in the conference hall of university's administrative building.

Chakrawal said to achieve the goals of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’, significant aspects such as experiential education, skill and entrepreneurship development, education in the mother tongue, employment-oriented education, internationalization of education, and industry-aligned education outlined in the National Education Policy 2020 will play a crucial role.

He also stressed that the initiative of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’- Youth's Voice for Resolution, launched by the Prime Minister on December 11, 2023, will be accomplished through collective efforts.

He urged teachers to develop human resources capable of contributing to nation-building. Discussing climate change and the appropriate use, conservation, and awareness of natural resources, he said India has always embraced "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world is one family) as its motto. India is committed to reducing the negative effects of increasing carbon emissions. The university is working in the field of renewable energy production and utilization, producing and using two megawatts of rooftop solar energy.

Defining the importance of disciplined living, sports, and exercise in personality development and character building, he said that developing a healthy mindset among our human resources is essential for building a developed India. Through the Healthy University Movement (HUM), the university continuously strives to keep the youth happy, positive, and healthy.

Among the topics discussed were Social Security and Robust Economy, Skill and Entrepreneurship Development and Self-Reliant Bharat, Renewable Energy, Infrastructure Development, Engineering and Technology, Climate Change, Natural Resources, and Medical Science, Various Dimensions of Education and Sports, Arts and Tourism, and World Brotherhood, and Science and Development and Legal Systems and Reforms.
