Hindi Diwas Celebrated with Grandeur at Kalinga University

* Students Captivate Everyone with Their Enthralling Performances

RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: Each year Hindi Diwas is celebrated on the 14th September to commemorate the occasion and to emphasise on the spread and growth of the Hindi language. On 14th September 1949, Hindi was recognized as the official language of the Republic of India.This day celebrates Hindi’s rich literary legacy and its essential role in bringing India’s many language minorities together.

Kalinga University celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm under the aegis of the Shaheed Veernarayan Singh Shodhpeeth, Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The event featured a grand cultural program and creative competitions, with renowned Hindi litterateur and Principal of Govt. Naveen College, Tamasivani-Raipur,Dr. Anand Shankar Bahadur, as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting and garlanding of Maa Saraswati's statue. The program took place in the presence of the Chief Guest Dr. Anand Shankar Bahadur along with the Deputy Registrar and HeadHR of Kalinga University Dr. Lincy Roy, COO of Kalinga Incubation Center Dr. Abhijeet Sharma, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Dr. Shilpi Bhattacharya, In charge of the Student Welfare Cell Lt. Vibha Chandrakar, and Assistant Professor of the English Department Dr. Vinita Dewan.

The first phase of the cultural program showcasedthe performance of Kalinga University students through a musical drama titled "Jungle Mein Aurat", which conveyed a powerful message about domestic violence and the atrocities faced by women. The live performance captivated the audience with its poignant message and impressive execution. Following this, a comedy play titled "Fakru Ke Armaan" was staged, which delighted the audience with its excellent presentation. Mr. Garv Sharma, a student of the Film Production Department, directed both plays.

The musical performances were rendered by Ms. Kanak Parmanandani (B.A. student), Parth Dubey (Law Department), Ms. Rudrani Acharya (Commerce and Management), and Ms. Deepen Shah (Computer Science Department). The cast for both plays included Garv Sharma, Ms. Anisa Mohanty, Anmol Pandey, Parth Dubey, Ms. Kanak Parmanandani, Ms. Rudrani Acharya, Aastha Sahu, Ms. Ananta Kumari, Prashansa Patel, Ms. Aayushi Kumari, Ms. Purva Lahare, Ms. Sonalika Monterio, Shivam Kumar, Aditya Rai, Kunal Singh, Vipul Kumar Singh, and Omm Sinha. 

The second phase of the event witnessed a Hindi poetry recitation and a poster competition, with 52 students participating. The judging panel for these competitions included Dr. Linsey Rai, Dr. Abhijeet Sharma, and Dr. Vinita Dewan.

The winners of the poetry recitation competition were Ms. Suvigya Bhardwaj - Pharmacy Department, securing First place, Ms. Vartika Kumari - Biotechnology Department, securing Second place, Mr. Amit Kumar Patel- ID Department, securing Third place. 

For the poster competition, the winners were Ms.Aksha Ahmed- Interior Design Department, securing First place, Ms. Mahima Agrahari - CS & IT Department securing Second place and Ms. Deepali Raman - CS & IT Department securing Third place. 

The top performers were awarded with trophies, books, and certificates. Other participants were presented with certificates of appreciation.

The Chief guest Dr. Anand Bahadur praised the event and the students' outstanding performances. He also emphasized the significance and achievements of Hindi Diwas. The program was hosted by Ms. Kanak Parmanandani (B.A. 5th semester) and Ms. Aadya Anushka Pani (BAJMC 3rd semester). 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ajay Shukla, Head of the Hindi Department, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors for their valuable contributions in making the event successful. The event saw participation from faculty members and students across the university.

Celebrating World Hindi Diwas acknowledges and honours all these contributions and reaffirms our commitment to preserving this language for future generations.
