CG: Polling parties dispatched for urban body polls

RAIPUR,INDIA: Raipur Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Singh, along with SSP Dr. Lal Umaid Singh, visited the strong room at the Engineering College and greeted polling personnel with rose flowers ahead of the Raipur Municipal Corporation election. Dr. Singh interacted with election staff, encouraging them as they prepared for polling duty.

Special arrangements were made at the material distribution site, including tents, seating, drinking water, lemonade, and biscuits. A trolley facility was also provided for transporting election materials. The Collector and SSP instructed police personnel to ensure the security of polling parties and election equipment. Polling personnel appreciated the smooth arrangements by the district administration.

Polling parties were dispatched by bus with EVM machines, VVPATs, and other materials, accompanied by security forces. The Collector assured staff that all necessary facilities had been arranged, with proper training provided. A checklist was introduced to prevent any lapses, and instructional videos were shared to guide polling personnel.

SSP Dr. Singh confirmed that security personnel were deployed with polling parties. Extensive preparations have been made for the elections on 11 February 2025, covering one Nagar Palika Parishad and nine Nagar Panchayats in Bemetara district. Voting will take place from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Bemetara Collector Ranbir Sharma is overseeing all election-related activities, personally distributing election materials and flagging off polling teams. Senior Superintendent of Police Ramakrishna Sahu provided security instructions.

Polling materials were distributed from the Agricultural Produce Market Complex, beginning at 7 AM on Monday, and by 3 PM, all materials had been allocated. 36 tables were set up for distribution in Nagar Palika Parishad Bemetara, and similar arrangements were made for Nagar Panchayats.

All polling teams were sent to their respective locations under tight security, with GPS tracking installed in vehicles to ensure safe movement. The administration and police are maintaining strict vigilance to ensure smooth and secure elections.
