Raipur/Mahasamund,INDIA: The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has approved multiple documents for voter identification in the upcoming Urban Body and General Elections 2025. Voters will be required to present any one of the accepted identity documents at the polling station to establish their identity.
Among the documents considered valid are the voter ID card issued by the Election Commission of India, Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, and driving license. Additionally, photo identity cards issued by the state or central government, public sector undertakings, and local bodies will be accepted. Other valid documents include photo pension documents, MNREGA job cards, photo health insurance scheme cards, and freedom fighter identity cards. Educational certificates with photographs issued by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education for 10th and 12th grades, photo disability certificates, and ration cards with photographs issued by the Chhattisgarh government are also included in the list of approved identity proofs.
Student identity cards issued by colleges or schools, as well as weapon licenses containing photographs, will be accepted at polling stations. Furthermore, the election commission has approved the use of an online voter identity slip generated through the SEC&ER software. Voters can download this slip from the official website of the Chhattisgarh State Election Commission (CGSEC.Gov.in) by searching their polling station details under the voter search and print section.
At the polling station, the Presiding Officer will verify the voter’s identity using any of these approved documents before allowing them to cast their vote.
