CG: Congress Revokes Expulsion of 18 Rebel Leaders

RAIPUR,INDIA: The Congress party has revoked the expulsion of 18 rebel leaders, including former MIC member Ajit Kukreja, allowing them to rejoin the party. The decision comes in the wake of the urban body elections in Chhattisgarh.

An official order regarding the reinstatement was issued by Congress state in-charge General Secretary Malkit Singh Gaidu. The move follows the recommendation of a scrutiny committee set up by the party, with approval from AICC General Secretary and Chhattisgarh in-charge Sachin Pilot.

Among the reinstated leaders are Ajit Kukreja (Raipur), Shanu Dubey, Diwakar Sahu, Jasbir Gubbar (Bilaspur), Vishwajeet Bohra (Mahasamund), Kajal Nag (Kanker), Brahm Dutt Mandvi, Manoj Malviya (Dantewada), Narendra (Tandon) Surin, Jugal Sahu (Balod), Hidayat Ansari, Mulkishore Sahu, Tulsi Sahu, Sohan Sahu, Khalid Mirza, Sanjay Nishad, Pratapdev Sahu, and Ritesh Sahu.

The decision has sparked internal opposition, particularly from former MLA Kuldeep Juneja, who had earlier written to the party leadership against Ajit Kukreja’s return. Kukreja had contested as an independent candidate against Juneja, the official Congress nominee, in the assembly elections.

Party insiders suggest that this decision may cause discontent among loyal Congress leaders, potentially weakening party discipline and creating internal divisions.
