RAIPUR,INDIA: Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries delegation handed over key suggestions related to Budget 2025 to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, who oversees Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New & Renewable Energy. Joshi was on visit to Raipur.
During the conference, the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries welcomed the historic Union Budget 2025-26, acknowledging its emphasis on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)—a crucial driver of India's economic growth.
The Chamber, representing 12 lakh traders across the state, expressed gratitude for the visionary budget, which charts a broad roadmap for a ‘Developed India’ with a strong focus on overall economic development, empowerment, and inclusivity.
Describing the budget as balanced and forward-looking, the Chamber praised its provisions benefiting businesses, industries, youth, women, farmers, and senior citizens. It lauded the government’s approach towards realizing Vision 2047, aimed at a prosperous and developed India.
The Chamber delegation put forth the following recommendations regarding budget provisions, mainly the requirement to submit 10% of the penalty amount as a pre-condition for filing an appeal should remain unchanged, reducing penalties related to updated returns, which would encourage greater compliance and help minimize disputes, and eliminating the additional compliance burden on recipients when monitoring supplier credit notes. Currently, there is no system for suppliers to verify if a recipient has reversed their Input Tax Credit (ITC), leading to reconciliation complexities, potential errors, and future disputes. Removing this provision would reduce unnecessary litigation.
In response, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi assured that the suggestions would be positively considered, and appropriate steps would be taken to address these concerns.
