AMBIKAPUR,INDIA: The Map project (Naksha) was launched in the Ambikapur Municipal Corporation area of Chhattisgarh, marking a significant advancement in digital land management. The project was virtually launched by the Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. The initiative aims to create an accurate record of urban land disputes through a drone survey, which will help resolve property issues quickly and make land ownership records more transparent.
The project is part of a nationwide effort, covering 26 states and 141 districts across three union territories. Ambikapur, along with Jagdalpur and Dhamtari in Chhattisgarh, has been included in the pilot phase. The project is seen as a proud moment for Ambikapur's residents.
Surguja MP Chintamani Maharaj praised the initiative, stating that it will provide an accurate record of land, eliminate land revenue problems, and increase transparency through digital records. He emphasized that this will reduce legal complications for citizens and help streamline urban development projects.
Collector Vilas Bhoskar noted that digitization would simplify land management and improve its effectiveness. He described the project as beneficial for the public and stressed that online records would ensure security of land revenue and support successful urban development schemes. The drone survey in Ambikapur will create a record of land boundaries, accessible through an online portal, making it easier to resolve land disputes in the future.
The launch of the Map project is a major step toward the digital transformation of land management in Ambikapur. It promises to enhance urban development and lay the foundation for more organized city planning.
