BEMETARA,INDIA: Roshan Singh Rajput, Headmaster of Government Primary School, Sambalpur in Saja Development Block, has been suspended with immediate effect due to negligence, indiscipline, and lack of commitment toward his duties. During a casual inspection conducted by the Block Education Officer, Saja, on January 22, 2025, Mr. Rajput was found absent without prior notice.
Statements from villagers, school cooks, Anganwadi workers, and teachers confirmed that Rajput was frequently absent and did not fulfill his teaching responsibilities. Additionally, he has been accused of consuming alcohol on school premises, a serious violation of professional conduct.
His actions have been deemed a violation of Subsections (1), (2), and (3) of Rule 3 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services Conduct Rules, 1965. As a result, he has been immediately suspended, and his headquarters during the suspension period has been designated as the Block Education Officer’s Office, Berla. He will receive a subsistence allowance as per the prescribed regulations.
Meanwhile, Chandrabhushan Thakur, an Assistant Teacher (LB) at Government Primary School, Taregaon (Nawagarh Block), has also been suspended for repeated absenteeism. Reports indicate that since August 20, 2024, Thakur was irregular in attending school and had been completely absent since January 6, 2025, without providing any notice.
The School Management and Development Committee, parents, and local community members had passed a resolution recommending disciplinary action. The investigating officer, D.P. Koiri (Assistant Block Officer, Nawagarh), found that Thakur’s prolonged absenteeism from August 2024 to January 2025 severely impacted the teaching and learning process at the school.
In another action, Surendra Kumar Barle, an Assistant Teacher (LB) at Government Primary School Sirsa in Block Berla has been suspended.
During the period of suspension Surendra Kumar Barle will be required to report to the Block Education Officer’s office in Saja. Their conduct was found to be in violation of Subsections (1), (2), and (3) of Rule 3 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services Conduct Rules, 1965, prompting disciplinary action.
In accordance with regulations, they will receive a subsistence allowance for the duration of their suspension.
