RAIPUR,G,INDIA: The much-awaited Municipal Corporation Mayor-in-Council (MiC) has finally been formed, and the announcement of the zone presidents is expected soon.
Mayor Meenal Choubey stated that the 14-member MIC is well-balanced, formed with guidance from Raipur MPs, four MLAs, and party officials. Due to the limited number of positions, nominations had to be made selectively. However, all 60 elected BJP councilors, along with 10 opposition councilors, will be given due respect and importance in the corporation council.
The focus remains on city development and improving basic amenities. Soon, zone presidents will be appointed for better coordination at the ward level. Corporation officers have been instructed to prioritize the concerns of public representatives. The mayor emphasized that she will actively work on the ground rather than from her office.
Current priorities include ensuring drinking water supply, cleanliness during the summer, revenue collection, and budget planning. She also urged citizens to be patient, assuring them that visible progress will follow soon.
