Chhattisgarh Congress leaders head to Ahmedabad

RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: The Congress party is set to hold its national session in Ahmedabad on April 8 and 9, with a strong contingent of leaders from Chhattisgarh heading to participate. On Monday afternoon, 55 delegates, including senior party officials, legislators, former ministers, and AICC members, departed for the event.

Among the prominent names attending are Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, State Congress President Deepak Baij, former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdeo, former Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Shivkumar Dahria, and Dhanendra Sahu.

The list also features senior leaders such as former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, former PCC chief Mohan Markam, Ravindra Choubey, Mohammad Akbar, Santram Netam, Premasay Singh Tekam, Umesh Patel, Kuldeep Juneja, Vikas Upadhyay, KTS Tulsi, Jyotsna Mahant, Devati Karma, and Gurmukh Singh Hora.

Interestingly, Gurmukh Singh Hora’s name appeared three times in the official list of delegates, raising eyebrows and suggesting either a typographical error or a mistake during the final confirmation process.

The Ahmedabad session is being viewed as a critical platform where the Congress is expected to chalk out its strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The significant presence of leaders from Chhattisgarh signals the party’s intention to focus on the state as a key battleground.
