Lift one-day limit of withdrawal: CM Baghel

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday asked the Cooperative Bank officials to lift the one-day limit of withdrawal. Baghel had received complaints that only Rs 49,000can be withdrawn in a day from the Cooperative Banks. Holding the review meeting of district officials at village Khapri under Takhatpur assembly constituency of Bilaspur district, hecalled for lifting the a-day limit for withdrawal from Cooperative Banks through cheque, Automated Teller Machine (ATM), National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS). He asked officials to hold camps for resolving the issuance of caste certificates on receipt of complaints. The camps should also be organised to resolve the compensation issues to those affected by Bhainsajhar project. He said it should be completed by month of June, after officials highlighted controversies in 40 cases. Baghel underlined the need to stop encroachment of land and resolving the revenue related disputes. It would help to reduce crime. The officials should probe the status of patwaris of their presence in headquarters. If land dispute is a reason for crime, then revenue and police should coordinate and stop hooliganism. If not then it will invite action against the officials of both the departments and the urban administration, he said. Baghel asked agriculture department officials to spread messages among farmers regarding schemes of agriculture equipment and other agriculture related schemes. On complaints against Panchayat Secretaries and Patwaris, Baghel asked the district collector to probe and submit a report. In the case of Patwaris, the Sub Divisional Magistrate should conduct a probe and take action. If not, the SDM may fall under scrutiny.
