3.15 lakh banners, posters, wall writing removed

Raipur, Chhattisgarh, india: A total of 3.14 publicity materials have been removed  across Chhattisgarh till Wednesday. Action has been taken on 1.99cases related to public properties and 1.15 lakh cases related to private properties.

After the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha general elections came into effect in the state, the process of removing wall writing, posters and banners from public and private properties under the Defacement of Property Act is in progress.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh, Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that a total of three lakh 27 thousand 210 cases have been identified across the state under the Defacement of Property Act by all the collectors and district election officers. These include 2 lakh 9 thousand 45 cases related to public property and 1 lakh 18 thousand 165 cases related to private property. The process of removing them is going on rapidly by all the district administrations. Under the Act, 41,788 cases of removal of banners, posters, wall writing etc. from government and private properties in Durg district, 2,048 in Sukma, 5,784 in Gariaband, 8,928 in Bemetara, 2,819 in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 16,973 in Balod, 4,425 actions have been taken in Jashpur, 2,931 in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur and 9,876 in Surguja.

Under the Property Distortion Act, a total of 8,935 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, 4,557 in Raigarh, 3,942 in Surajpur, 4,591 in Kanker, 27,881 in Bilaspur, 1,383 in Dantewada, 23,137 in Mahasamund, 8,531 in Janjgir-Champa, 823 in Bastar, 19,343 in Korba, 12,339 in Kondagaon, 12,700 in Kabirdham, 1,886 in Bijapur, 5,774 in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, 16,927 in Rajnandgaon, 5,917 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 4,109 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Korea. Wall writing from 2,816 properties in Uttar Pradesh, 191 in Narayanpur, 4,542 in Mungeli, 6,917 in Sakti, 8,735 in Dhamtari and 33,126 properties in Raipur.
