RAIPUR,CG: After having prolonged unresolved differences with the Congress High Command, one more influential tribal leader Sishupal Shori quitted Congress party and joined BJP.
Former legislator from Congress party from Kanker constituency Shishupal Shori who is also a retired IAS officer joined BJP in Raipur.
The former MLA Shori joined BJP at state party headquarters at Kushabhau Thakre campus a day ahead of Lok Sabha polls. During the entry ceremony, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Arun Sao and other big BJP faces were also present.
Along with Shori other important leaders who joined the Congress party were Satnami Sect spiritual leader Vijay Guru’s daughter Priyanka Guru, Chandraparakash Vajpayee, Santosh Kaushik, Dantewada’s Zilapanchayat vice-chairman Subhash Surana, Sharad Singh and others. Around 700 Congressmen joined BJP.
Political Analysts said, if the trend of quitting Congress party Congressmen continues, the party may suffer huge set back in the state in Lok Sabha polls and coming civic body elections.
